PM KUSUM (Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthan Mahabhiyan) provides solar pumps to farmers at 90 percent subsidy. Under Component B, 30 percent comes from Central Government, 30 percent from Rajasthan State Government, and the farmer pays only 10 percent.
Any Rajasthan farmer with agricultural land and an irrigation requirement is eligible. The farm must be in Rajasthan and the farmer must have valid jamabandi confirming land ownership.
Applications are submitted through the Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation at rrec.rajasthan.gov.in. Documents required: jamabandi (land records), Aadhaar card, bank account linked to Aadhaar, passport-size photograph, and a site photograph showing the farm and proposed pump location.
After submission, RREC verifies eligibility and assigns an empanelled vendor for installation. The farmer pays 10 percent to the vendor before installation begins.
A complete solar pump system including panels, controller, motor pump, and pipes, installed and commissioned. The 10 percent farmer contribution on a 7.5HP system is approximately Rs. 40,000 to Rs. 55,000. The full system is worth Rs. 4 to Rs. 5 lakh.
PM KUSUM installations must be carried out by RREC-empanelled vendors. Using a non-empanelled installer forfeits the subsidy entirely.
